Two Manuscript Accepted in Interpreation

Two manuscript from our research team were accepted for publication in the special section of interpretation journal to be printed in August 2019.

  • Y. Alaudah, P. Michalowicz, M. Alfarraj, G. AlRegib, “A Machine Learning Benchmark for Facies Classification,” Interpretation, Aug 2019.

  • M. Alfarraj, and G. AlRegib, “Semi-supervised Sequence Learning for Elastic Impedance Inversion,” Interpretation, Aug 2019.

Pre-prints of the manuscripts are available on SEG library.

Two abstracts accepted in SEG 2019

SEG2019

Two abstracts were accepted for presentation in SEG’s annual meeting in San Antonio, TX.

  1. M. Alfarraj and G. AlRegib, “Semi-supervised Learning for Acoustic Impedance Inversion,” Expanded Abstracts of the SEG Annual Meeting , San Antonio, TX, Sep. 15-20, 2019.

  2. A. Mustafa, M. Alfarraj, and G. AlRegib, “Estimation of Acoustic Impedance from Seismic Data using Temporal Convolutional Network,” Expanded Abstracts of the SEG Annual Meeting , San Antonio, TX, Sep. 15-20, 2019.

Looking forward to meeting you in SEG if you’re attending.

Presented a paper at SEG2018, Anaheim, CA

I spent last week in Anaheim, CA (beautiful city, by the way) attending SEG208 international conference and 88th Annual meeting. Our lab presented a total of 8 papers on different applications of machine learning for seismic interpretation and processing.

I presented my abstracted titled “Petrophysical Property Estimation from Seismic Data Using Recurrent Neural Networks” .
